Flat Foot Engineering is a fully-fledged mechanical service provider, with a systems-based approach. Specialising in supplying installation and repairs of boilers, laundry equipment, kitchen equipment, backup power generators and autoclaves, Flat Foot has grown tremendously since its formation in 2006, becoming one of the leading black-owned and managed electro-mechanical companies with branches in East London, Port Elizabeth and Mtatha, and a growing presence in Johannesburg.
Started by Max Mabuti, a professional boxer with just a wheelbarrow to deliver his product and a dream, Flat Foot’s exponential growth and expansion into diverse sectors is driven by an executive team led by historically disadvantaged South African individuals (HDI’s) with a wealth of experience in Mechanical Engineering and related fields. For our clients, this means that we’ve got every mechanical and engineering need covered, be it delivering kitchen and laundry equipment throughout the country, managing the mechanical needs of all the government hospitals in the Eastern Cape, or installing back-up power generators for the Coega Development Corporation.
Just like our CEO in his boxing days, we’re determined to go the distance; providing quality service to satisfy the needs of our clients while always ensuring the health and safety of our operations. It’s why we’re continuously improving our quality standards, why we’re developing our own manufacturing units, why we won the ROCCI/FNB Business of the Year Award and why we consistently review and improve our systems, striving for technological efficiency through automation.
We’re proud that nearly a third of our turnover is business we pass on to up-and-coming black-owned subcontractors, as part of our Enterprise Development Programme aimed at giving back to the community.
