Services
ONLINE MEDIA MONITORING
We have developed our own search engine that allows us to monitor thousands of online news platforms worldwide. Using Boolean Search technology, we are able to refine and filter the results – thereby guaranteeing close to 100% accuracy. We are able to add additional websites to our monitoring list, as well as filter out coverage which our clients do not want to receive.
PRINT MEDIA MONITORING
Print media monitoring searches through combination of traditional print publications as well as digital publications, which are scanned into our database using the latest OCR (Optical Character Recognition) software to identify keywords or search phrases provided to us by our clients. We deliver the coverage in easy-to-access PDF documents, which can be downloaded and printed.
TV MEDIA MONITORING
Monitoring of television stations, our broadcast team makes use of world-leading “Speech to Text” software that has been developed in house and refined over the years to ensure up to 95% accuracy. Our data capturers then physically listen to each item picked up by the “Speech to Text” software to verify its relevance before sending it to our clients. We are able to monitor more than 120 TV channels across South Africa, Botswana and Namibia.
RADIO MEDIA MONITORING
Monitoring of Radio stations, we make use of world-leading “Speech to Text” software that has been developed in house and refined over the years to ensure up to 95% accuracy. We then use humans to listen to each item picked up by the “Speech to Text” software to verify its relevance before sending it to our clients. We currently monitor more than 120 radio channels across South Africa, Botswana and Namibia.
SOCIAL MEDIA MONITORING
Using software that has been developed by our in-house experts, our social media monitoring service includes monitoring of Twitter, Facebook, roughly 190 million blogs and over 65,000 message boards and forums. In our experience, the use of “hashtags” or “handles” increases the relevancy of the coverage we find and deliver – but we also make use of Boolean Search technology to ensure the accuracy of information. ANALYSIS REPORTS
We offer a variety of analysis reports ranging from basic to in depth – where each article is read and analysed by our team of specialists and reported on according to its tone, sentiment and topic. Reports can be delivered as often as required, and in any format (MS-Excel, Ms-Word, MS-PowerPoint or PDF). We also provide analysis reports on an ADHOC basis.
NEWS MONITOR
Founded in 2003, The News Monitor offers comprehensive print media coverage with a national footprint – covering daily and weekly newspapers, community papers and trade magazines. Our emphasis is on quality, and as such, The News Monitor actively uses the “human element” in capturing and allocating coverage. Articles are scanned in original format and size, with all pictures and graphics included, and are quality checked for accuracy prior to being included in our database.
NEWS FEEDS
Our technology has been designed to deliver any of our media monitoring or news monitoring services in the form of customized news feeds to our clients’ website, intranet or extranet. We can deliver coverage in a XML, RSS, or HTML format. This service also assists with the SEO (Search Engine Optimization) of your website to ensure it remains up to date and relevant at all times.
